We tromped on to the checkerboard fountain and then up the stairs. The guides thought that the back exit was open so we walked quite a ways toward it until someone discovered that it wasn’t open. So all the way back. George was weaving quite a bit by then and needed to stop frequently. We were dousing him with the water we had and trying to get him into whatever shade was around. Finally we called Lisa and said we needed the bus to pull up or to get a cart or something. As I said she was unprepared for this and said that it was a walking tour and she was hot too. So we stumbled on until we finally reached the bus and were greeted by a bunch of lawyers who were traveling as a group. They were pissed that they had to wait for us. What jerks. Luckily George was okay after getting rehydrated and out of the sun.
